LS is the passenger-capacity decision

An LS with the optional front bench can carry nine people. Other seating arrangements include seven with second-row captain’s chairs or eight with a second-row bench and front buckets. Choose passenger count first if losing a seat would defeat the purchase.

LT begins the diesel choice

The available 3.0L Duramax diesel is offered on LT and higher trims. It produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. If diesel ownership is the priority, begin at LT and evaluate the cabin equipment you want before choosing a higher grade.

RST emphasizes a different appearance

RST combines black exterior details and 22-inch wheels. The 6.2L V8 and Magnetic Ride Control are available, rather than automatically included by the RST badge. Review the actual engine and suspension equipment before comparing it with a High Country or Premier.

Z71 makes four-wheel drive standard

Z71 includes 4WD, skid plates, a two-speed transfer case and all-terrain tires. Its identity comes from that hardware. Available air suspension should be checked as a separate option; the Z71 badge alone does not establish an air-suspension-equipped vehicle.

Premier and High Country include Magnetic Ride

Both include Magnetic Ride Control, while High Country also includes the 6.2L V8. Compare the ride, engine preference and fitted cabin equipment together. A comfort decision is more useful than treating the higher trim name as a capability rating.

Compare engine availability by grade

The three engines share a 10-speed automatic. Their availability creates different shortlists from the seating or appearance decisions.

Treat assistance as installed equipment

Super Cruise is available on LT and higher trims through the appropriate package. The standard touchscreen and Chevrolet Safety Assist do not mean Super Cruise is fitted. Ask to review the selected vehicle’s package and operating requirements.

Use the suspension table for the right question

Magnetic Ride and air suspension are different systems with different availability. Confirm the exact equipment on the SUV, then try the ride.

Do not select towing capacity from the trim badge

The properly equipped 8,400-pound maximum requires the 5.3L V8, RWD and Max Trailering. That is a different decision from choosing High Country for its standard 6.2L V8. Match trailer requirements to the engine and drivetrain before selecting cabin equipment.

Make the trim step explainable

Choose a requirement, identify the relevant trim or option, then check the selected vehicle. A bigger wheel or more powerful engine should solve a preference you actually have, rather than stand in for passenger capacity or towing equipment.
