Three-Row SUV · Northwest Arkansas
2026 Chevrolet Traverse For Sale
Chevy's roomiest crossover — three rows, up to eight seats, a class-leading 98 cubic feet of cargo, and a 328-horsepower turbo. Built for families across Northwest Arkansas, from the school run in Centerton to a weekend haul up to Beaver Lake. Browse the lineup at George Nunnally Chevrolet.
The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is the largest crossover Chevy builds — smaller and easier to live with than the body-on-frame Tahoe, but big enough to seat eight and swallow a road trip's worth of gear. Now in its third generation, it pairs a single turbocharged four-cylinder with a roomy, tech-forward cabin and class-leading maximum cargo volume. This guide walks through the engine, all four trims and their pricing, the technology, interior, cargo and towing, safety, and which configuration fits which buyer. For the full specifications see the Traverse specifications guide, and for a trim-by-trim breakdown see all Traverse trims compared.
Engine & Powertrain
2026 Traverse Engine and Powertrain
Every 2026 Traverse runs the same powertrain: a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. It replaced the old V6 and matches its headline numbers while improving efficiency, and it runs on regular 87-octane fuel. EPA estimates are 22 mpg combined (20 city / 26 highway) on front-wheel-drive models and 21 mpg combined (20 / 24) with all-wheel drive.
Front-wheel drive is standard on the LT, High Country, and RS, with all-wheel drive available for about $2,000. The off-road Z71 comes with an advanced twin-clutch AWD system standard. Properly equipped, every Traverse is rated to tow up to 5,000 pounds, and a trailering package — heavy-duty cooling, a 220-amp alternator, a factory hitch, and hitch guidance with a Hitch View camera — is standard across the lineup. That covers a small camper, a pair of personal watercraft, or a boat down to Beaver Lake without stepping up to a full-size SUV.
Trim Lineup & Pricing
2026 Traverse Trim Lineup and Pricing
The 2026 lineup is four trims — LT, Z71, High Country, and RS — and 2026 brings the return of the High Country as the comfort-focused flagship. Starting prices below are MSRP and exclude the $1,995 destination charge.
Traverse LT — from $40,800
The value anchor and the one most families should start with. Even at the base price it carries a 17.7-inch touchscreen, the 11-inch driver display, Chevy Safety Assist, three rows, and a standard trailering package. The LT is the most flexible on seating: standard seven-passenger captain's chairs, or an available second-row bench that takes it to eight. See LT inventory.
Traverse Z71 — from $48,900
The trail-ready one, and the only trim with AWD standard. It adds a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system, an off-road-tuned suspension, 7.8 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, recovery hooks, Terrain Mode, and Hill Descent Control. A capable setup for gravel roads and snow, not just a styling package. See Z71 inventory.
Traverse High Country — from $55,100
The comfort flagship. Genuine leather, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a power-folding third row, a 10-speaker Bose system, 22-inch wheels, and the Enhanced Driving and Driver Confidence packages standard — which means GM's hands-free Super Cruise is included. See High Country inventory.
Traverse RS — from $55,400
The sporty top trim. Blacked-out exterior accents, dark-finish wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and unique interior trim, with Super Cruise standard like the High Country. It sits just above the High Country on price and trades some of its luxury touches for a darker, sportier character. See RS inventory.
Technology & Connectivity
Technology and Connectivity
The cabin centers on a 17.7-inch diagonal touchscreen and an 11-inch driver information display. Google built-in brings Google Maps, Google Play, and the Gemini assistant natively, and available OnStar adds connected safety and convenience services. On higher trims, Super Cruise — GM's hands-free driver-assist system that works on more than 600,000 miles of compatible North American roads — is standard on the RS and High Country and available on the LT and Z71 through the Enhanced Driving Package, which also brings a surround-view camera, rear camera mirror, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Interior, Cargo & Passenger Space
Interior, Cargo, and Passenger Space
This is where the Traverse separates itself from the pack. It offers a class-leading maximum of 98 cubic feet of cargo space with the second and third rows folded, 56.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and a usable 22.9 cubic feet behind the third row even with all seats up — enough for the stroller-and-suitcase shuffle on a full Bella Vista carpool day. Unlike most three-row crossovers, adults actually fit in the back row. Seating is seven with second-row captain's chairs or eight with the available bench, and the RS and High Country add One-Touch Fold and power-folding second- and third-row seats. The AutoSense Power Liftgate opens hands-free, and the front row gives drivers 44.2 inches of legroom. The Traverse cargo and interior guide breaks down every configuration.
Off-Road Capability
Off-Road Capability
For drivers who leave the pavement, the Z71 is the one to look at. Its standard twin-clutch AWD actively shuffles torque to keep grip, and combined with 7.8 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, a skid plate, and improved approach and departure angles, it handles Forest Service roads and muddy boat ramps that would stop a standard crossover. Hill Descent Control and a dedicated Terrain Mode round it out. The other three trims are tuned for on-road comfort, with available AWD for traction in winter weather rather than trail duty.
Safety & Driver Assistance
Safety and Driver Assistance
Chevy Safety Assist is standard on every 2026 Traverse and bundles Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam auto high beams. Standard automatic reverse braking is a notable add at the base level. Stepping up to the Enhanced Driving and Driver Confidence packages — standard on RS and High Country — adds Adaptive Cruise Control, a surround-view camera system, rear camera mirror, and Super Cruise.
