2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport in white, front three-quarter view in the mountains with black roof and red stripe

Order a 2027 Corvette Grand Sport and you will make about six decisions in twenty minutes, and two of them you cannot change afterward. The two that matter most are the drivetrain, rear-wheel drive or the electrified all-wheel drive of the Grand Sport X, and the tire and brake package, because a Z52 Track car and a standard car are genuinely different vehicles to live with through an Ozark winter. Everything else on the sheet is comfort, color and trim.

Corvette allocation is limited, so the order sheet usually gets filled out weeks before the car exists. That is the moment this post is written for: you know you want one, and you are about to commit to a specification you will drive for years.

Quick Answer

  • Drivetrain first: the Grand Sport is rear-wheel drive at 535 hp; the Grand Sport X adds a front electric motor for 721 combined hp and all-wheel drive
  • Model level does not change speed. 1LT, 2LT and 3LT all use the same 6.7L LS6 V8
  • Both Z52 packages are offered on all three model levels, so a 1LT can be the most focused car in the range
  • The 1LT coupe starts at $86,000 before destination, $88,495 with it
  • Seats and interior color are the two things worth sitting in before you sign

Decision one: rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive

This is the fork in the road, and it is not a budget question. The rear-drive Grand Sport puts 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft from the naturally aspirated 6.7L LS6 straight through the rear wheels. The Grand Sport X keeps that engine at the rear and drives the front axle with a 186-hp electric motor, for 721 combined horsepower and all-wheel drive.

In Northwest Arkansas the practical difference shows up between November and March. Both cars come on Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires, so both are usable year-round, but a driven front axle changes what a damp 38-degree morning on I-49 feels like when you pull out of a side road. If your Corvette is going to be the car you take to work, that is worth thinking about honestly before you pick.

If it is going to come out for the good drives, the rear-drive car is the one built around the engine, and it is the more rewarding thing to drive well on a road like AR-12. The two are compared line by line here, and the LS6 engine page covers what the naturally aspirated character gives you on a road like that.

Decision two: which Z52 package, if any

This is the decision most first-time Corvette buyers underweight, because it hides in the options list next to things that do not matter nearly as much.

The Z52 Sport Performance Package adds performance brakes and high-performance tires. The Z52 Track Performance Package adds carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, the quad center exhaust and the Carbon Fiber Aero Package with its high wing, dive planes, rockers and front splitter. Both are offered on every model level.

Here is the local read. The roads that justify owning this car here, the climbs and sequences off AR-12 and the routes running east through the Ozark Plateau, are braking-and-turning roads at moderate speed, not high-speed circuits. That is the Sport package’s home ground exactly, and it leaves you with a car that works in January. Order the Track package if there are track days in the plan or if the aero and the exhaust are the point, and budget for a second set of wheels with all-season tires. Plenty of owners here do precisely that, and they are happy; the ones who get caught out are the ones who did not know they were choosing. The full breakdown of both packages is here.

Before you commit

Allocation moves faster than order sheets. Tell us the build you want and we will match it against what is inbound to Bentonville.

Decision three: model level, which is quieter than it looks

1LT, 2LT and 3LT share an engine, a gearbox, a chassis and a body. Nothing you pay more for makes the car quicker. What the extra money buys is the hours you spend in it not driving quickly.

The 1LT is the whole mechanical car at $86,000 before destination. The 2LT, at $93,100, adds heated and ventilated seats, a head-up display, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert and the 14-speaker Bose Performance Series system. The 3LT, at $97,750, adds GT2 Napa leather seats, a custom leather-wrapped instrument panel and doors and 14 interior color choices.

The rule of thumb we see land right most often: if the car will do a commute from Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville or Siloam Springs, the 2LT’s equipment gets used every day and pays for itself in ordinary comfort. If it is a weekend car, the 1LT with a Z52 package puts the same money where the road is. The trims page has the step-up table with what each model level adds.

Decision four: coupe or convertible

Both are offered at every model level, and this one is genuinely about how you plan to use the car rather than about equipment. The coupe’s roof panel lifts out and stows in the rear trunk, which turns a morning run down to Bentonville Square into an open car for the cost of two minutes and some luggage space. The convertible’s power hardtop does it at a button, at any moment, including the moment the weather turns on you halfway up US-62.

Worth knowing before you decide: the two trunks together hold 12.6 cubic feet, and the coupe’s roof panel lives in the rear one when it is off. So on the coupe, open-air and fully loaded are alternatives. The specs page has the dimensions, including the 79.7-inch width that is worth measuring your garage against.

Decision five: the seat, which you should sit in first

Three seats are offered. GT1 is the 8-way power seat in Mulan leather, standard on the 1LT and 2LT. GT2 comes in Napa leather with carbon-fiber trim and a seatback halo, available on the 2LT and standard on the 3LT. Competition Sport seats are wrapped in Napa leather with performance textile in the high-wear areas.

They fit differently, and a spec sheet will not tell you which one suits your frame. This is the single best reason to come to the showroom before the order sheet rather than after it. The interior and technology page covers the cabin, the 14-inch driver display and the 12.7-inch touchscreen, but the seat is a twenty-minute problem you solve by sitting down.

What ownership looks like once it lands

Running costs on a Grand Sport are shaped by what you ordered, not by the badge. Oil changes run on the GM Engine Oil Life System rather than a fixed mileage, with at least one change a year. Tires and brakes are the real variables, which loops straight back to the Z52 decision. Coverage is 3 years or 36,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and 5 years or 60,000 miles on the powertrain.

One genuinely local habit: this region gets ice storms and pretreated roads rather than deep snow, so an underbody wash after a brine week does more for a Corvette’s long-term condition here than a garage does. The maintenance page covers the schedule and the wear items in full.

Where to start if you are still deciding

If the Grand Sport is new to you, the overview is the fastest way in. If you have specific questions, the FAQ page answers about thirty of them, and the Grand Sport research hub routes you to whichever page matches the decision in front of you. If you are cross-shopping the wider range, the 2026 Corvette research hub covers the Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to order a 2027 Corvette Grand Sport?

It depends on allocation rather than on the build itself, which is why the first step is a conversation rather than a form. Call (479) 319-2494 with your specification and we will tell you what is realistic against current and inbound allocation.

Can I change the order after I place it?

There is a window before the build is locked at the plant, and it is shorter than most buyers expect. That is exactly why the drivetrain and package decisions are worth settling before you sign rather than after.

Which engine does every 2027 Grand Sport use?

The 6.7L LS6 naturally aspirated V8, on all three model levels, making 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. The engine page covers how it differs from the Grand Sport X’s electrified version.

What are the Grand Sport’s dimensions and cargo space?

79.7 inches wide excluding mirrors, 48.6 inches tall, on a 107.0-inch wheelbase, with 12.6 cubic feet of cargo volume across the two trunks and a 3,520-pound base curb weight. Measure your clear garage opening before you order; the specs page has the full dimensions.

What is the oil change and maintenance schedule?

Oil runs on the GM Engine Oil Life System rather than a fixed mileage, with at least one change a year, and tires are rotated on the GM maintenance schedule. The maintenance page has the full schedule.

Which trim has the safety technology and the head-up display?

The 2LT and 3LT. Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert are standard from the 2LT up, along with the head-up display. The interior and technology page lists what each level carries.

Should I get pre-approved before ordering?

Yes, and on an allocation-constrained car it is more useful than usual: a pre-approved buyer can commit the moment the right build becomes available. Start the application here or run numbers on the payment calculator first.

Can I trade my current car in against an ordered Corvette?

Yes. Submit it online for a value, or bring it when you come in to sit in the seats and we will appraise it while you are here.

Where will I get it serviced?

Here, at 2700 SE Moberly Ln. Our Chevrolet Certified Service department works on Corvettes with factory-trained technicians and genuine GM parts. Schedule service online when the time comes.
