Forty years ago a man in a sport coat stood in front of a building with hand-set letters on the roof and made Northwest Arkansas an unusually simple offer: try me. No fine print, no theatrics. Just come see what we do, and decide for yourself.

We’ve been at it ever since. The signs got nicer. The trucks got quieter — some of them plug in now. Bentonville grew up around us. But the pitch never really changed, because it never needed to.
