Release Timing

When Does the 2027 Silverado 1500 Come Out?

Chevrolet revealed the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 on June 16, 2026 and expects it to go on sale by the end of 2026. Order banks, full specifications, and pricing are all set to be announced later in the year. In other words, the truck is real and official now, but the paperwork and the numbers are still rolling out.

As with any all-new truck, the earliest builds tend to be allocation-limited, so the buyers who get theirs first are usually the ones who registered their interest early. If a 2027 is on your radar, the smart move is to tell our team in Bentonville now so we can reach out the moment ordering opens. One note for heavy-duty shoppers: only the light-duty 1500 was redesigned for 2027. The Silverado HD (2500 and 3500) carries over its current design, with its own redesign expected later.

What’s New

The Key Features of the 2027 Silverado 1500

This is not a mild refresh. Chevrolet calls it the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever, and it touches nearly every part of the truck. Here are the changes that actually matter to a buyer.

Two all-new V8s

Next-generation 5.7L and 6.6L Small Block V8s replace the old 5.3L and 6.2L. The 2.7L TurboMax four-cylinder returns in enhanced form on a new 10-speed transmission, and the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel carries over. Four powertrains in all.

Big screens, standard

A 16.3-inch center touchscreen and a 12.2-inch driver display are now standard on every trim, even the Work Truck. ZR2 and High Country add a standard 11.5-inch front passenger screen.

More Super Cruise

GM’s hands-free Super Cruise, which works even while towing, is now available across more of the lineup than before instead of just the flagship.

A bolder new look

All-new exterior with new LED headlights and taillights, a stronger front face, more pronounced wheel-opening moldings, and standard dual exhaust on Custom and above.

Every 2027 Silverado gets a fully digital cockpit; the High Country adds real wood and a first-ever panoramic sunroof.

At the top of the range, the High Country becomes more clearly the flagship with standard 22-inch wheels, a new Tritan Satin grille, and a Silverado-first panoramic sunroof. Even the entry trims benefit, because the big screens and connected tech that used to be reserved for higher trims are now standard across the board.

The Lineup

The 2027 Silverado 1500 Seven-Trim Lineup

Chevrolet simplified the lineup to seven trims, including three lifted off-road models. From the ground up:

  • Work Truck: the fleet and commercial workhorse, built for upfits and uptime.
  • Custom: full-size value, now with dual exhaust and 20-inch wheels.
  • Custom Trail Boss: an attainable entry into off-road with a 2-inch lift and 34-inch tires.
  • Silverado: the new name for the mid-lineup LT; the Z71 off-road package is standard on 4WD.
  • Trail Boss: 34-inch tires, a 2-inch factory lift, and a dedicated off-road hood.
  • ZR2: the off-road flagship with 35-inch tires, front and rear lockers, and Multimatic DSSV dampers.
  • High Country: the luxury flagship with 22-inch wheels and the panoramic sunroof.

Still Coming

What Chevrolet Hasn’t Announced Yet

A few of the most-searched questions do not have official answers yet. Chevrolet has confirmed the design, the engine lineup, and the trims, but has not released horsepower or torque figures for the new V8s, towing and payload ratings, fuel economy, or pricing. The company says all of that will be announced later in 2026, closer to launch.

If you need real, confirmed numbers to make a decision today, the current 2026 Silverado 1500 has published specs and pricing and is in stock now. Questions

2027 Silverado 1500: Common Questions

When will the 2027 Silverado 1500 be available?

Chevrolet revealed it on June 16, 2026 and expects it to go on sale by the end of 2026, with order banks and pricing announced later in the year. Early production is typically limited, so registering your interest early helps you get one sooner.

Is the 2027 Silverado a redesign or just a refresh?

It is a full, ground-up redesign, not a mid-cycle refresh. Chevrolet reimagined the exterior, interior, powertrains, and trim lineup for the next generation of the truck.

What engines does the 2027 Silverado 1500 have?

Four powertrains: two next-generation Small Block V8s (a 5.7L and a 6.6L) that replace the 5.3L and 6.2L, an enhanced 2.7L TurboMax four-cylinder on a new 10-speed transmission, and the carryover 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel. Horsepower and torque figures will come later in 2026.

How much will the 2027 Silverado 1500 cost?

Chevrolet has not announced 2027 pricing yet and says it will be released closer to launch. For reference, the current 2026 Silverado 1500 starts around $36,900 before destination and runs to about $71,800 for the ZR2.

Can I reserve a 2027 Silverado 1500 now?

Order banks open later in 2026. Until then, the best step is to get on the interest list at George Nunnally Chevrolet so we can contact you as soon as you can place an order.
