The 2027 Chevrolet Suburban gives families three rows of seating and a substantial cargo area without folding away the back row. That combination is its strongest reason to be on your shopping list: you can evaluate room for your passengers and their belongings at the same time.

At George Nunnally Chevrolet, start with your normal passenger count, then choose the seating arrangement, engine and equipment you want to use every day. For a Springdale school run followed by an I-49 trip, the useful question is whether everyone can settle in comfortably while the gear stays organized.

At a Glance

  • The 2027 Suburban offers LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country trims.
  • Cargo volume behind the third row is 41.5 cubic feet.
  • The engine lineup includes two gasoline V8s and an available Duramax turbo-diesel.
  • The standard center touchscreen measures 17.7 inches diagonally.

Engines: Choose the Power Delivery You Prefer

The standard 5.3L V8 is the natural starting point for a test drive. The available 6.2L V8 gives buyers another gasoline choice, while the Duramax turbo-diesel offers a different torque profile. All three engines use a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Try the engine you intend to buy on a route with the kinds of merges and speed changes you regularly make. Engine output does not establish a vehicle’s trailer rating; equipment, drivetrain and the loaded combination matter too.

Six Trims, Different Priorities

The LS 2WD starts at $64,500 MSRP, excluding destination freight charge, tax, title, license, dealer fees and options. The trim guide compares all six base configurations; an individual vehicle’s written quote establishes its purchase price.

LS emphasizes the essential Suburban package. LT adds cabin comforts including leather-appointed seating and heated front bucket seats. RST brings a sportier visual treatment, while Z71 focuses on off-road hardware. Premier concentrates on passenger amenities, and High Country pairs its premium cabin with the standard 6.2L V8.

Choose the features you would miss before choosing a badge. The trim-by-trim comparison explains the meaningful upgrades, engine availability and starting-price basis.

Technology You Can Check Before You Buy

The 17.7-inch center touchscreen and 11-inch driver display give the driver separate places for entertainment and vehicle information. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility let you bring familiar phone functions into the cabin; compatible devices and applicable data services are required.

Pair your own phone during the visit. Try a navigation destination, check that you can reach common controls from your driving position, and ask which connected services require a plan. This is more useful than judging a screen only by its size.

Available Super Cruise adds hands-free driver assistance on compatible roads. It requires an attentive driver and an eligible service plan; it does not make the Suburban self-driving. Check the equipment on the specific LT, RST, Premier or High Country you are considering.

Interior Space: Keep the Seats You Need

Suburban seats eight in its standard arrangement, with seven- and nine-passenger configurations available. The nine-seat arrangement is offered on LS. A second-row bench and bucket seats solve different needs, so count the positions you need before comparing upholstery.

With all rows in use, the cargo area measures 41.5 cubic feet. Folding the third row opens 93.8 cubic feet behind the second row, and folding both rear rows creates up to 144.5 cubic feet. Those are volume measurements, not a guarantee that a particular stroller, crate or piece of furniture will fit.

For an airport pickup at XNA, think about the number and shape of bags as well as the number of passengers. Bring your largest frequently used item to the dealership and check it with the seats in their normal positions.

Towing and Cargo Work Together

If you tow, shop the whole combination: people, luggage, hitch equipment and trailer. Trailer tongue weight uses part of the vehicle’s payload allowance, so a full cabin can affect the available capacity for towing.

Bring the trailer’s loaded weight and hitch information to your visit. We can help identify the engine, drivetrain and trailering equipment on a specific Suburban and review its vehicle labels. A trim name alone is not enough to choose a tow vehicle.

Z71 Off-Road Equipment

Z71 includes all-terrain tires on 20-inch wheels, an aluminum skid plate, red recovery hooks, a high-approach front fascia and an Autotrac two-speed active transfer case. Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is available.

For a Rogers buyer who uses an unpaved private driveway or a maintained access road, it is worth testing the ride and entry height as well as reviewing the hardware. Choose routes appropriate for the vehicle and your ability; four-wheel drive does not remove traction or clearance limits.

Safety and Visibility

Adaptive Cruise Control and HD Surround Vision are standard equipment highlights. During your demonstration, look at the camera display from your normal seating position and learn how the alerts and controls work.

Driver-assistance features supplement careful driving. Conditions, visibility and system limitations affect their operation, and the driver remains responsible for watching the road and the area around the vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I start when choosing a Suburban?

Start with the seating arrangement you need, then compare the trims that offer your preferred engine and comfort features. This keeps a necessary seat position from getting lost in an equipment comparison.

Can I try the Suburban with my own luggage?

Yes. Bring clean, manageable items you use regularly and ask our team to help check loading space before the drive. Keep the rows you use upright so the exercise reflects your routine.

Should I compare Suburban and Tahoe on the same visit?

That is a useful way to judge the size difference. Test the same parking maneuver and load the same items in each vehicle so the comparison is consistent.
