The All-New 2027 Silverado 1500 at a Glance
- Fifth-generation, fully redesigned — the first ground-up Silverado 1500 since 2019.
- Seven trims: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country.
- Four powertrains, including two brand-new small-block V8s — a 5.7L and a 6.6L — alongside the 2.7L TurboMax and the Duramax 3.0L diesel.
- Available Super Cruise hands-free driving that works while towing — something no competitor in the class offers.
- Expected on sale at the end of 2026. Pricing and EPA figures are announced by Chevrolet closer to launch.
The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a clean-sheet redesign — the first all-new half-ton Silverado since 2019 — and Chevrolet is leading with what truck buyers in Northwest Arkansas actually ask about first: engines and towing. Two next-generation small-block V8s arrive for 2027, a 5.7L and a 6.6L, and the 6.6L is the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in the half-ton class. Pair that with available Super Cruise that keeps working while you pull a boat trailer up AR-12 toward the Beaver Lake ramps, and the headline is easy to read: more power, and a hands-free system nobody else in the segment can match while trailering.
George Nunnally Chevrolet in Bentonville will stock the 2027 Silverado 1500 across the lineup and serves buyers throughout Springdale, Rogers, Fayetteville and Siloam Springs. The 2027 Silverado 1500 goes on sale at the end of 2026, and its pricing and EPA fuel-economy figures become official closer to that date. Here is how the 2027 lineup breaks down, and how to figure out which one fits your work and your driveway.

2027 Silverado 1500 Engines and Powertrain Options
The 2027 Silverado keeps a four-powertrain lineup, and the useful thing to understand up front is that engine and trim are largely separate decisions. Every engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission for 2027 — including the 2.7L TurboMax, which moves up to the 10-speed this year. The four engines are confirmed; their exact horsepower, torque and EPA figures become official closer to launch. Each one below is described by the job it does best.
2.7L TurboMax Turbocharged Four-Cylinder
The enhanced 2.7L TurboMax returns as the standard engine and still delivers best-in-class standard torque. For daily driving around Bentonville and the I-49 commute, this is the engine most buyers will live with happily.
5.7L V8 (New for 2027)
An all-new small-block V8 that replaces the outgoing 5.3L. It is one of the two next-generation V8s at the heart of the redesign, built for the durability and V8 feel long-time Silverado owners expect.
6.6L V8 (New for 2027)
The larger of the two new V8s, replacing the previous 6.2L. It is the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in the half-ton class. This is the gas engine for buyers who want maximum grunt without stepping up to a heavy-duty truck.
Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel Inline-Six
The segment-exclusive Duramax diesel carries over as the efficiency-and-torque choice. On the previous generation it delivered the lineup's best highway range and its highest tow rating; Chevrolet will confirm the 2027 figures at launch.
2027 Silverado 1500 Trim Lineup and Pricing
Chevrolet reorganized the ladder into seven trims for 2027, including three factory-lifted trims. Pricing is announced closer to the end-of-2026 on-sale date; the positioning below is confirmed from Chevrolet's reveal.
Work Truck
The fleet and job-site foundation — durable, easy-to-clean interiors and configurations built around common upfits for the contractors working across Benton and Washington counties.
Custom
The value trim, now with standard dual exhaust and 20-inch Technical Gray machine-faced wheels.
Custom Trail Boss
The entry point into off-road, with a 2-inch factory lift and 34-inch tires.
Silverado (formerly LT)
The core, best-selling trim, renamed simply Silverado for 2027. Choose 4WD and the Z71 package is standard, adding skid plates, hill descent control and off-road suspension.
Trail Boss
A dedicated off-road trim with 34-inch mud-terrain tires, a 2-inch lift and a unique off-road hood — and it can be equipped with available Super Cruise.
ZR2
The off-road flagship: 35-inch mud-terrain tires, front and rear locking differentials, Multimatic DSSV dampers and the first-ever forged carbon-fiber trim in a Silverado. An available ZR2 Bison edition, built with American Expedition Vehicles, adds AEV bumpers, 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels and full skid-plate protection.
High Country
The flagship for comfort: standard 22-inch wheels, an exclusive Tritan Satin grille, a Silverado-first panoramic sunroof, real wood trim and standard Super Cruise.
Technology and Connectivity
Every 2027 Silverado 1500 gets a fully digital cockpit as standard: a class-leading 16.3-inch center touchscreen paired with a 12.2-inch driver information center. Step up to the ZR2 or High Country and a standard 11.5-inch front passenger screen joins a head-up display and rear camera mirror for more than 60 inches of digital displays. A reconfigurable Multi-Flex center console adds storage and folds into a work surface, and available dual wireless charging keeps two phones topped off.
The standout is Super Cruise. Chevrolet's hands-free driver-assistance system now works while towing a trailer — the only hands-free system in the class that does — which matters on a long I-49 pull down to Fayetteville with a trailer behind you. Super Cruise is standard on High Country and ZR2 and available on Silverado and Trail Boss.
Interior and Comfort
The redesign brings a more premium, tech-forward cabin across the lineup. Even the Work Truck gets the new digital displays and connected features, so an entry truck no longer feels like an entry truck. Up the ladder, the High Country adds real wood decor, available microfiber suede and that Silverado-first panoramic sunroof, while the off-road trims get their own themes — the ZR2's Torch Red accents and forged carbon-fiber trim among them.

Towing and Payload Capability
Towing is the reason many NWA buyers shop this truck — a bass boat down AR-12 to Prairie Creek, a utility trailer up the I-49 grades south of Fayetteville, a camper to the Beaver Lake ramps. Chevrolet has not yet published the 2027 Silverado 1500's official tow and payload ratings; the previous generation towed up to 13,300 pounds properly equipped with the Duramax diesel, and the new V8s improve on the engines they replace. An available Max Trailering package (with an extra-capacity cooling system) returns for 2027, and Super Cruise's hands-free trailering is the segment-exclusive headline. We publish the confirmed 2027 numbers the day Chevrolet releases them — see our 2027 Silverado 1500 towing guide for the full picture as it firms up.
Off-Road Capability
Three factory-lifted trims cover the off-road range. Custom Trail Boss is the attainable entry with a 2-inch lift and 34-inch tires; Trail Boss adds mud-terrain rubber and a dedicated off-road hood; and the ZR2 is the flagship, with 35-inch tires, front and rear e-lockers and Multimatic DSSV dampers engineered to stay composed over rough ground. There is no shortage of places to use it in the Ozarks, though riders should stick to legal, established areas.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The 2027 Silverado 1500 adds a deep standard safety suite, with several features new for this year: Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert and Reverse Automatic Braking join Adaptive Cruise Control, IntelliBeam auto high beams, Forward Collision Alert, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Front and Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, a Safety Alert Seat and an HD Rear Vision Camera. As always, these assist the driver; they do not replace attentive driving.
Which 2027 Silverado 1500 Is Right for You?
Because engine and trim are separate choices, most buyers land quickly once they know their job.
If you tow to Beaver Lake most weekends
Look at the Duramax diesel or the new 6.6L V8 on a Silverado or LTZ-grade trim, and plan on the Max Trailering package. See Silverado 1500 inventory.
If it is a work and fleet truck
Work Truck, configured for your upfit, is the honest pick. Browse in-stock trucks.
If you want the most power
The new 6.6L V8 — Chevrolet's most powerful naturally-aspirated half-ton V8 — on the trim that fits your interior taste.
If you leave pavement
Custom Trail Boss to start, Trail Boss for more capability, ZR2 if serious off-road is the point.
If you want the nicest one
High Country, with standard Super Cruise, the panoramic sunroof and 22-inch wheels.
When Chevrolet publishes 2027 pricing, we will post a well-equipped target for each of these so you can budget with a real number rather than an estimate.
