2027 Silverado 1500 Trims at a Glance

  • Seven trims for 2027: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country.
  • Three of them are factory-lifted off-road trims: Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss and ZR2.
  • Engine and trim are separate choices — four powertrains are shared across the ladder.
  • The Silverado trim (formerly LT) is the core, best-selling grade for most Northwest Arkansas buyers.
  • Pricing is announced by Chevrolet closer to the end-of-2026 on-sale date.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ladder runs from a fleet-focused Work Truck to a premium, wood-and-suede High Country, with a three-trim off-road branch in between. The useful thing to know before you start: engine and trim are largely separate decisions. Deciding you want the new 6.6L V8 does not decide your trim, and picking the Silverado grade does not lock your engine.

George Nunnally Chevrolet in Bentonville will stock the lineup and sells across Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville and Siloam Springs. Below is every trim, what each step adds, a side-by-side matrix and the comparisons buyers actually run. Engine detail lives on the 2027 Silverado 1500 overview, and the full towing picture on the towing guide.

Trim-by-Trim Breakdown

Work Truck

The foundation of the lineup, built for fleets and commercial operators. Durable, easy-to-clean interiors, configurations optimized for common construction, utility and municipal upfits, and next-generation V8 power tuned for the durability and serviceability fleet managers demand. Even here the cabin gets the new digital displays, so an entry truck no longer feels bare. Available engines span the four-powertrain range; drivetrain is rear-wheel drive with four-wheel drive available. For a buyer who wants a truck that works and does not care about badge order, this is the honest pick.

Custom

The value step, and now a sharper-looking one: standard dual exhaust and 20-inch Technical Gray machine-faced wheels give it presence the old value trim did not have. It keeps the essential content most buyers actually use, on the same mechanical package as the trucks above it. Rear-wheel drive standard, four-wheel drive available.

Custom Trail Boss

The attainable way into off-road: a 2-inch factory lift and 34-inch tires on the Custom's value base. It is the trim for a buyer who wants real trail stance and clearance without stepping all the way up to Trail Boss or ZR2.

Silverado (formerly LT)

The core, best-selling trim, renamed simply Silverado for 2027. It is where the interior stops being work-spec and the feature set fills out, and it is the most flexible trim in the lineup across engines. Choose 4WD and the Z71 package is now standard, adding skid plates, hill descent control and off-road suspension — and Super Cruise is available here. For most Northwest Arkansas buyers, this is the landing spot.

Trail Boss

A dedicated off-road trim: 34-inch mud-terrain tires, a 2-inch factory lift and a unique off-road hood, with two off-road interior themes. It can be equipped with available Super Cruise, which no rival off-road half-ton offers. Four-wheel drive is standard.

ZR2

The off-road flagship, and the most capable ZR2 ever. It runs 35-inch mud-terrain tires, a 2-inch lift and a dedicated off-road hood, with standard front and rear locking differentials and Multimatic DSSV dampers paired with jounce dampers to stay composed at speed over rough ground. Inside, Torch Red accents and the first-ever forged carbon-fiber trim in a Silverado. Standard 11.5-inch passenger screen and Super Cruise. An available ZR2 Bison edition, built with American Expedition Vehicles, adds AEV bumpers, 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels and a full set of skid plates.

High Country

The luxury flagship. Standard 22-inch After Midnight machine-faced wheels, an exclusive Tritan Satin grille and a Silverado-first panoramic sunroof mark it outside; inside, real wood decor, available microfiber suede, the 11.5-inch passenger screen, a head-up display and rear camera mirror, and standard Super Cruise. It is the truck for a buyer who wants full-size capability without giving up comfort.

Common 2027 Silverado 1500 Trim Comparisons

Silverado vs High Country

The most-run comparison in the lineup. Both can carry the new V8s and Super Cruise; the difference is interior. High Country adds the panoramic sunroof, real wood, the 11.5-inch passenger screen, head-up display and 22-inch wheels, and makes Super Cruise standard rather than optional. Capability follows the engine, not the badge. Choose High Country if you spend real hours in the seat; the Silverado if the truck's job is mostly outside the cabin.

Custom Trail Boss vs Trail Boss

Both are lifted 34-inch-tire off-road trims. Custom Trail Boss builds off the value Custom; Trail Boss is the dedicated off-road grade with the off-road hood, unique interior themes and available Super Cruise. If you want trail stance on a budget, Custom Trail Boss; if off-road is the point and you want the tech, Trail Boss.

Trail Boss vs ZR2

Trail Boss is serious off-road on 34-inch tires. ZR2 is the flagship: 35-inch tires, front and rear e-lockers, Multimatic DSSV dampers and the hardware to run hard over desert and rock. If you cross rough ground occasionally, Trail Boss. If technical trails and high-speed off-road are the reason you are buying, ZR2 — and the Bison edition if you want AEV armor.

Work Truck vs Custom

The clearest value question at the bottom of the ladder. Work Truck is the fleet-spec foundation; Custom adds dual exhaust, 20-inch wheels and a fuller feature set on the same mechanical package. Contractors who live in the truck usually step up to Custom; buyers whose truck is a tool between jobs often do not need to.

The 2027 Silverado 1500 Value Verdict and Step-Up Guide

The Silverado trim is where most Northwest Arkansas buyers land, because it is where equipment and everyday usability meet and it carries the full engine range plus available Super Cruise. Every rung below and above it is right for someone.

StepWhat the step adds — and who it is for
Work Truck to CustomDual exhaust, 20-inch wheels, fuller features — the daily-driver who still works the truck
Custom to Custom Trail Boss2-inch lift and 34-inch tires — the buyer who wants off-road stance affordably (different intent)
Custom to SilveradoFuller interior, standard 4WD Z71, available Super Cruise — the volume choice for most buyers
Silverado to Trail BossDedicated off-road hardware and hood — the buyer who actually leaves pavement (different intent)
Trail Boss to ZR235-inch tires, e-lockers, DSSV dampers, forged carbon trim — the serious off-roader
Silverado to High CountryPanoramic sunroof, real wood, passenger screen, standard Super Cruise — the buyer who wants luxury
