It is not self-driving, and it does not remove your responsibility to operate the vehicle safely.

Where it earns the money around here is the long, dull stuff: the run down I-49 to Fayetteville, or the stretch out toward Siloam Springs on US-412. On the gas Equinox the equivalent comfort feature is Adaptive Cruise Control, which is available rather than standard.

Standard Driver Assistance Features

Every 2027 Equinox carries more than 15 standard safety and driver assistance features. Six of them make up Chevy Safety Assist, and they divide by the road they work on. Forward Collision Alert, the Following Distance Indicator and Automatic Emergency Braking are the I-49 stop-and-go set. Front Pedestrian Braking and IntelliBeam, which handles the high beams for you, are the dark-county-road set. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning covers the long highway stretch.

On the gas Equinox: HD Surround Vision for angled parking, Side Bicyclist Alert, the Rear Camera Mirror, Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control. HD Surround Vision is the one most owners come back for, because downtown Bentonville and the Crystal Bridges lots reward a camera that shows all four corners.

On the Equinox EV: HD Surround Vision becomes standard from LT 2, and the range adds Active Safety Package 2 and Super Cruise higher up. Both vehicles offer an integrated garage door opener, and the EV offers a driver attention assist monitor from LT 2.
